Electrician HT

To safely install, maintain, and repair electrical systems, equipment, and machinery, with a focus on medium voltage (MV) and high voltage (HV) electrical networks, substation maintenance, and conveyor systems.

• Grade 12 / STD 10 with Mathematics and Physical Science (NQF Level 4) is essential.
• A recognised relevant Trade qualification (Section 13 or 26D) is essential.
• Proof of recognised completed apprenticeship (completed by means of effluxion of time) is acceptable.
• NTC 2 (relevant four subjects) is essential.
• Valid Code 8 driver's licence (essential and must be able to attend to callouts).
• Minimum of 3 years working experience as an Electrician is essential.
• 2 years of experience on MV (33 kV & 6.6 kV) cable installation, termination, fault finding, and repairs.
• Experience in construction, installation, operation, and maintenance of MV electrical networks including switchgear.
• Experience in substation maintenance and MV testing equipment.
• Experience in conveyor maintenance and repairs, and maintenance/repairs of overhead cranes.
• Valid Red Ticket or medical fitness to obtain such a certificate.

• Attend to callouts regarding electrical breakdowns promptly.
• Install batteries and other electrical components.
• Design and construct Single and Three Phase Circuits.
• Construct and commission Low/Medium/High Voltage networks.
• Plan and organise electrical maintenance, including all required spares.
• Inspect, maintain, perform fault finding, and record condition of medium voltage networks and related equipment.
• Install and maintain MV and LV equipment.
• Assist contractors as and when required.
• Maintain a high standard in SHEQ management.
• Respond to hazardous and emergency conditions effectively.
• Perform basic fire fighting and basic first aid when required.
