Description

Sibanye-Stillwater is offering a Learnership 18.2 Learner Miner opportunity within the Gold West Wits operating segment. This temporary learnership programme is designed to provide participants with the skills, knowledge, and practical experience required to become qualified miners. The successful candidates will complete all modules of the development programme within the specified timeframe while adhering to all legal and safety requirements. A total of 7 positions are available for this intake.

Requirements
  • NQF Level 4 (National Senior Certificate / Grade 12 or equivalent) with English and Mathematics (Pure Maths)
  • Medically fit to work in the specific mining business area
  • Clear security screening record
  • Valid driver's license (if applicable)
  • Relevant experience in a mining or related environment (advantageous)
  • South African citizen with legal right to work
  • Willingness to complete all programme modules within specified timeframe
  • Ability to recognise hazardous situations and participate in on-the-job risk assessments
  • Strong commitment to safety, health, and environmental standards
  • Good communication and reporting skills
Key Responsibilities
  • Demonstrate understanding of the programme objectives and associated tasks throughout the learnership
  • Complete all modules of the development programme within the specified timeframe
  • Escalate queries and concerns associated with the programme and completion thereof where required
  • Adhere to all legal and safety requirements in the mining environment
  • Conduct all work according to required standards, specifications, and training provided
  • Attend SHE (Safety, Health, and Environment) meetings as and when required
  • Ensure that prescribed safety equipment is worn and used correctly at all times
  • Recognise hazardous situations that impact on all jobs and participate in on-the-job risk assessments
  • Ensure adherence to all company policies and procedures
  • Compile developmental progress reports for progress discussions with relevant stakeholders
