Casual Frontshop Assistant
To uphold merchandising standards while supporting customer service at point of sale in accordance with Dis-Chem policies and procedures, ensuring a world-class shopping experience.
- Grade 12 â Matric or Senior Certificate.
- 0 â 6 Months Retail work experience.
- 1 Year work experience within Retail (advantageous).
- Certification in Retail Business Management (advantageous).
- Knowledge of retail operations and administration.
- Fundamental arithmetic skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Ability to convey ideas and facts verbally.
- Ability to address customer questions in a timely manner.
- Recognises the need for procedures and follows relevant procedures.
- Takes personal responsibility for quality and timeliness of work.
- Basic computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook), numerical skills, SAP (advantageous).
- Ensure full ranges of products are on the shelves at all times and neatly presented.
- Maintain stock on the shelves to ensure it has not reached its sell-by date.
- Restock merchandise when needed to ensure maximum sales.
- Follow up on all out-of-stock customer queries in line with the customer service out-of-stock list.
- Ensure delivered stock and/or stock pulled from the storeroom is stored and packed in the correct space.
- Ensure merchandise displays, labels, and pricing are correct at all times and report price discrepancies to management.
- Keep the storeroom organised, neat, and tidy.
- Keep up to date with new product knowledge to effectively assist customers.
- Assist with restocking of merchandise and supplies when needed.
- Assist with back shopping when required.
- Handle all merchandise carefully to prevent losses.
