Electoral Officer
To contribute towards strengthening electoral democracy processes by assisting in coordinating and implementing the election-related programmes of the Electoral Commission at voting station level.
- South African citizenship.
- Registered voter.
- No high party political profile.
- Access to a mobile phone.
- Ability to operate smartphone technology and assist others in the use of technology.
- Reside in the area applied for (Auckland Park / Region 4).
- Proficiency in the main language(s) of the area applied for.
- Willingness to undergo and attend training (virtual and/or face-to-face).
- Valid and open bank account.
- Registered as a taxpayer with SARS.
- Updated comprehensive CV, qualifications, ID copy, and driver's license (if required).
- Assist in coordinating election-related programmes at voting station level.
- Support the implementation of electoral democracy processes.
- Assist with voting station setup and operations.
- Provide support to voters and electoral staff.
- Operate smartphone technology and assist others in its use.
- Ensure compliance with electoral regulations and procedures.
- Assist with voter education and information dissemination.
- Support the coordination of election materials and resources.
- Report on voting station activities and issues.
- Attend all required training sessions.
- Perform any other duties assigned by the Electoral Commission.

Special Conditions of Employment:
Applicants should not have a high party political profile.
All successful permanent candidates will be required to enter into performance contracts.
Foreign qualifications must be accompanied by an evaluation certificate from SAQA.
Recommended candidates will undergo risk assessments, including verification of CV, qualifications, criminal and credit assessments.
A probation period of twelve months will be applicable to permanent employees.
