Accounts Payable Clerk

SPAR is seeking an Accounts Payable Clerk to ensure the timely and correct reconciling of all creditor's accounts from Vendor Line item (Age Analysis) to the supplier statements and payments thereof. The successful candidate will be responsible for receiving statements, effecting payment according to payment terms, and reconciling Vendor Line items against supplier statements.

• Matric Certificate (Accounting as a subject advantageous)
• Minimum of 4 years of experience with computerised creditor reconciliation systems
• SAP experience
• Advanced computer skills, especially in Excel
• Excellent numerical and organisational skills
• Good communication skills with internal and external customers
• Display a high degree of accuracy, speed, and attention to detail
• Ability to cope under pressure and ensure deadlines are met
• FMCG experience (advantageous)
• South African citizen or valid work authorization

• Receive supplier statements and effect payment according to agreed payment terms
• Reconcile Vendor Line item (Age Analysis) against supplier statements
• Resolve reconciling transactions according to Company process
• Ensure timely and correct reconciliation of all creditor's accounts
• Process creditor payments accurately and within deadlines
• Maintain accurate records of all creditor transactions
• Communicate effectively with internal and external customers regarding payment queries
• Investigate and resolve discrepancies between Vendor Line items and supplier statements
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
• Support month-end closing processes for accounts payable
