Description

The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) is seeking a Warehouse Picker/Packer to join the Logistics & Infrastructure division at the Tembisa Office. The main responsibility of the Picker/Packer is to assist the local office with supervised material and stock handling. The successful candidate will perform duties subject to the direct control and discipline of the Provincial Electoral Officer or his/her delegate, supporting the 2026 Local Government Elections.

Requirements
  • South African citizen
  • Registered voter
  • Material handling work experience or previous Picker/Packer experience
  • Familiar with Ekurhuleni Municipality (Tembisa area)
  • Reside within Ekurhuleni Municipality (Tembisa area)
  • Valid bank account
  • Registered with SARS for tax reference number
  • No criminal record
  • No high political party profile
  • Not related to any employee of the Electoral Commission in the municipality applied for
Key Responsibilities
  • Assist the local office with supervised material and stock handling
  • Perform picking and packing duties for election materials and supplies
  • Ensure accurate counting and recording of stock items
  • Maintain organised warehouse storage and inventory systems
  • Assist with loading and unloading of delivery vehicles
  • Follow all safety and security protocols in the warehouse
  • Report any stock discrepancies or damages to supervisors
  • Assist with stock takes and inventory audits as required
  • Maintain cleanliness and order in the warehouse area
  • Comply with all Electoral Commission policies and procedures
