AREA MANAGER KZN ETHEKWINI METRO - SOUTH REGION

The Electoral Commission of South Africa (IEC) is seeking an Area Manager to assist with logistical and administrative duties towards the 2026 Local Government Elections for the eThekwini Metro - South Region. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating election activities, managing resources, and ensuring the smooth execution of electoral processes within the designated metropolitan area.

• South African citizen
• Registered voter
• Matric certificate
• Minimum of 8 years working experience
• Minimum of 3 years supervisory experience
• Valid driver's license with access to a suitable vehicle (willing to use for official IEC business)
• Access to a mobile telephone (willing to use for official IEC business)
• Valid bank account and registered taxpayer with SARS (tax reference number required)
• Proficient in relevant local languages of eThekwini Metro
• Resident of or familiar with the municipality/ward applied for
• No high political party profile (no political office or candidacy in last 5 years)
• No serious criminal convictions (fraud, rape, murder, assault, corruption)

• Assist with logistical coordination for the 2026 Local Government Elections within eThekwini Metro South Region
• Perform administrative duties related to election preparation and execution
• Supervise and manage temporary election staff within the designated area
• Ensure compliance with Electoral Commission policies, procedures, and legal requirements
• Monitor and report on election activities within the metro region
• Liaise with stakeholders including political parties, observers, and community members
• Manage and coordinate area resources including materials and equipment
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of all election-related activities
• Resolve logistical issues and challenges as they arise in the field
• Ensure the smooth execution of voting processes on election day
